Alternative Frisbees

Last night we visited the Baroeg in Rotterdam. We’ve often visited the place as spectators to the bands we adore ourselves, but this time, we’d be at the other side of the stage. We were invited to a band contest / showcase under the name of Alternative Route, and so we made sure we were there to let everybody get their grooves on. Other bands on the bill were the metal band Apokalypsis, and surfrock band El Chupacabra.

After a thorough soundcheck (during which it sadly became apparent that there was no vox monitor) and having a bite to eat, we entered the stage and (after being introduced by the night’s host – a first for us) fired it up. It was Milan’s first gig with the Trout, but he pulled it off more than nicely, lining up one blistering solo after the other and eating himself through the rest of the material with ease. At the end, with an applauding gathering of enthusiastic onlookers hungry for more, we did Paranoid for the encore and distributed our famous frisbees towards their new owners.

We like to thank everyone who came to support us – we highly appreciate it! We were pleased with how everything turned out, and as far as we're concerned it won’t take very long for us to return there. Hail!
